Junior Development Program

Week 2 – 12 (Finishing Friday 16th December)
Weekly Sessions Include

  • 5 sessions per week
    2 x swim specific sessions
    1 x bike specific skill session
    1 x wind trainer brick session; bike/run
    1 x run/core session
    (specific session days/times/locations available on request)

Events that the B Mee Junior Squad will be participating in over the 12 weeks

  • Hervey Bay Tri Club Tri event 16th October
  • Park Run Hervey Bay 29th October
  • Huntingdale Hundy Kids 12th November
  • Fraser Coast Cycling Club – Junior Crit 4th December
    As a finish to the program we will have a fun little event on Sat 17th December followed by a healthy breakfast and some achievement awards for all participants.

Junior Development?

Any Junior aged between 8 and 16 that has an interest in giving the sport of Triathlon a go for 12 weeks can apply to be a part of this Program:

12 week Program Breakdown.

Week 1 Intensive Block Sunday 25th September – Friday 30th September

  • 1 hour session daily (6 sessions for the week) going through swim/bike/run/transition skills drills as well as nutrition.
  • Finishing on Friday 30th Sept with a fun ‘triathlon’ just for the squad.

Cost Involved.

The B Mee team is committed to delivering a high quality experience for all of its participants. We have kept the cost as manageable as possible.
Don’t have a bike? Don’t worry we have 10 junior bikes and wind trainers that your child can apply to use throughout the 12 week program for no cost at all.

Cost Commitment

  • $5 – Annual Junior membership with B Mee Multisport
  • $32 – Annual Junior membership with Triathlon Australia (this covers all insurance while training and participating in events)
  • $50 per week – 12 week commitment over the block set up as a direct debit.
  • Individual sessions are $10 casual

What can you expect from B Mee Multisport?

As a club, we will honour and value the commitment you have made to this program. We will never ask more of you than what you can deliver and will understand if other commitments prevent you from participating in activities. We will also provide you with;

  • A B Mee Multisport shirt and welcome pack;
  • Opportunity to represent the Club when it arises;
  • A certificate at the end of the program acknowledging your progression and development; and
  • Support and encouragement.

Week 1 Intensive Block 25th – 30th September
Please arrive 10 – 15mins early

  • Day 1 Sunday 25th September

    Time: 10am – 11am
    Location: Hervey Bay High School Aquatic Center
    Session Focus: Swim/Run and Welcome information
    What you need: Swim gear, running gear, water bottle.

  • Day 2 Monday 26th September
    Time: 4pm – 5pm
    Location: All abilities park grassed area Pialba
    Session Focus: Transitions/bike pedaling technique.
    What you need: Windtrainer/bike/Helmet/running gear
  • Day 3 Tuesday 27th September
    Time: 4pm – 5pm
    Location: Hervey Bay High School Track
    Session Focus: Running technique and speed work.
    What you need: Run gear!
  • Day 4 Wednesday 28th September
    Time: 4pm – 5pm
    Location: Hervey Bay High School Aquatic Center
    Session Focus: Swim technique and mini Aquathon
    What you need: Swim and run gear
  • Day 5 Thursday 29th September
    Time: 4pm – 5pm
    Location: Hervey Bay High School Oval
    Session Focus: Bike Technique and Duathlons
    What you need: Windtrainer/Bike/Run gear
  • Day 6 Friday 30th September
    Time: 3pm – 4:30pm
    Location: Hervey Bay High School Aquatic Center
    Session Focus: Warmup and a Mini Triathlon followed by a nutrition talk on how to fuel your body with healthy food!
    What you need: EVERYTHING 🙂 Bike/Swim/Run gear

    Time: 5:30am – 6:30am
    Location: Industrial Airport Estate
    Session Focus: Cycling Skills/Drills/Speedwork
    What you need: Bike, helmet, Cycling Gear
  • Wednesday
    Time: 4 – 5pm
    Location: Hervey Bay High School Aquatic Center
    Session Focus: Swim Session
    What you need: Swim Gear
  • Thursday
    Time: 4 – 5pm
    Location: Hervey Bay High School Oval
    Session Focus: Run Session. Technique/drills and speed work
