ABOUT THE KINGSTON JUNIOR TRI PROGRAM

Our program was developed in June 2016 to cater for Juniors wanted to get involved in Triathlon at a beginner to performance level. 

The program encourages kids to get involved and promotes Triathlon in the Fraser Coast region sessions for this program are delivered in various locations around Hervey Bay such as the Hervey Bay Aquatic Centre, school ovals and undercover area, beach, esplanade and industrial estate (bike group riding skills session).

Kingston Junior Tri Programs are delivered by Triathlon Australia accredited coaches holding accreditation as a Foundation or Development Level Triathlon Coach.

Sessions focus on movement skills in the water, on the bike and in the run. Skills such as – agility, balance, coordination, speed, jumping, gliding and buoyancy. 

The program is delivered in Term 1 and Term 4 of the year. (10 weeks per term)

FUN and FITNESS SQUAD – $200 

2 Coached sessions per week

Each participant receives a welcome pack valued at $100 which includes.

  • Voucher to pay your Junior Triathlon AUS membership/Bmee Club membership
  • Welcome Kingston Tri Bag
  • Kingston Triathlon Academy Singlet (to wear at training/events)
  • Bmee Latex Swim Cap

* Fitness requirement must be able to swim 25m freestyle unaided

DEVELOPMENT SQUAD – $360 

4 Coached sessions per week

Each participant receives a welcome pack valued at $140 which includes.

  • Voucher to pay your Junior Triathlon AUS membership/Bmee Club membership
  • Welcome Kingston Tri Bag
  • Kingston Triathlon Academy Singlet (to wear at training/events)
  • Bmee Latex Swim Cap
  • $40 discount voucher towards a Kingston Junior Triathlon Academy race suit

* Fitness requirement must be able to swim 50m freestyle unaided

PERFORMANCE SQUAD – $500 

8 Coached sessions per week

Each participant receives a welcome pack valued at $180 which includes.

  • Kingston Triathlon Academy Singlet (to wear at training/events)
  • Bmee Latex Swim Cap

TRAINING PEAKS, EVENT GOALS

Commitment of attendance to all coached sessions per week and to complete all set individual sessions on Training Peaks.

Fitness requirements in swim, bike, run to be accepted in this program

SWIM:

  • 400m continuous freestyle
  • 200m free under 3:30 seconds
  • 100m free under 1:40 seconds

BIKE: 

  • Be able to ride competently at 26km/hr for 30minutes
  • Pass a skills bike course test
  • If not already in bike clip in shoes be willing to transition into
       them.

RUN:

  • Be able to run at least 6km aerobically without stopping
  • 3km under 14 minutes
  • 1km under 4 mintues 30 seconds
